Wouldn't sexing them be the same as sexing other types of quail?

some have dark bodies and white on the throat area others look like bobwhites first time raising them so i am not that familiar with colors

Most of the time the males will have a small white throat with a head looking almost like a masked bobwhite more black on,but this is not always correct since this bird is a muted bird color changes can happen often..I would say about 80% of the males of a white patch..From what I have raised.

jchiar, yes the males do look like masked with the darker heads I've noticed a lot of the reds or most the ones I've seen have white on them all. GOD BLESS, Tommy

on the tenn reds I have the males have black around the eyes and on the neck area the females do not have these markings they are more red headed and white throughted but like yall said it's hard to tell
