Anyone here fish for channel cats? I have a lake nearby that I live to catche them at. I use fresh chicken liver on a 2/0 kahle hook and 10 pound test. My biggestr there was a 28 inch 10 pounder. I will be going theis friday night.

I do but I just go to this place doesn't have big of ones. mostly just catch them and give them away.

channel cats are good eating. I just skin them, fillet them and throw them in the weeds for the coon. I once laughed myself half to death because a neighbor girl found a big one and said the found a baby whale, lol. She said a baby whale because I spike thier heads to a railroad tie with a 1/2" trapping stake.

Used to catch Cats in Ontario when growing up. Not sure on the species though. I do know they were not any of the large species. Live in Alberta now. No Cats. However, in Manatoba , in the Red River there are Channel Cats & huge ones ! Well, not as big as the States. Wish they were here....

Love to catfish. I agree liver works well. Night crawlers do the trick to, but you might catch other fish as well.
